CAIT, which has 70 million traders as members, will soon start a nationwide registration process to bring them on an ecommerce platform, expected to be launched in August. The pilot has already started in Madhya Pradesh, where individual e-stores have been created for retailers, said CAIT General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal. This will be launched at a national level over the next five months, Khandelwal said, adding the traders will have the licence required to operate such a platform. Known for its stiff opposition to e-commerce, the traders’ body had recently written to Prime Minister Narendra banks remained subdued at 8.7% year-on-year in September 2019, though private sector banks recorded 16.5% growth. The department, however, said it was not possible to perform the consecration only in Tamil. Principal Secretary to the department said Thirumurai Parayanam, which includes Panniru Thirumurai, Abhirami Anthathi and Thirupugal among others, will be performed during Yagasalai poojas and Maha Abhishegam on February 5. This he said in a counter-affidavit submitted before the Bench in response to a PIL petition.
