Indians are the largest beneficiaries of the H-1B visa, accounting for around three-fourths of the total 85,000 visas issued annually . Around four lakh Indians are in the US on the H-1B visa. The biggest impact will be felt by IT bigwigs such as TCS, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, Larsen and Toubro and Infosys. The companies saw a decline in H-1B visas by over 60% from 18,320 in 2015 to 6,885 in 2020. The H-1B denial rate P7 has gone up to about 32%.
