The panel concluded, on the basis of forensic evidence, that the actor’s death was a “clear case of suicide”. In its report to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the six-member panel noted that there were no marks on the actor’s body, other than a liga- ture mark on the neck caused by hanging. His body and the clothes he wore at the time of his death do not bear any signs of struggle, the doctors observed. The panel did not find any trace of poison or sedative drugs in Sushant’s body . “In the toxicological examination of the viscera which had been examined here, no presence of any sedative material could be established,” said an AIIMS source. All of them had been going to school. Officials of the Education department said all precautions were in place at the schools, and the students may have contracted the virus elsewhere. Collector M Hari Jawaharlal told the school managements not to open the institutions from Monday without permission from the District Education Officer. While 18 of the students who tested positive are from the Gan- tyada ZP high school, nine are from the ZP high school at Datti village in Dattirajeru mandal. Gantyada Mandal Education Officer (MEO) G Vijaya Lakshmi said the local health official tested students and teachers at the school on September 30. “About 108 people were tested, and 18 were found to beinfectedon Saturday,” Vijaya Lakshmi told TNIE. Nine of the infectees are boys and nine are girls. Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi and DGP H C Awasthy visited Hathras and assured the family of quick and stern action against the culprits. During the visit, first by high-ranking officials of the state government, both officials squatted on the ground and listened to the family patiently for about an hour. The family informed the officials of multiple lapses on the part of the police and the district administration. They also questioned the police’s hurried cremation. “We want to know whose body was burnt that day . All of us requested the police and the administration to allow us to see her one last time,” the victim’s brother told the officers. They also accused district officials of locking the family up in their home and taking away their phones. Later, addressing a press conference, Awasthi said the family would be given 24X7 security and measures will be taken to check any possible caste conflict in the village in future.
