The State government has ordered a detailed probe into the incident, which took place on the outskirts of Pedapulipaka village late on Wednesday . The accused have been identified as Rama Rao, who works in the PCB, and Nagaraju — a car driver. On noticing fire and smoke emanating from an isolated place in Srinagar Colony on Pedapulipaka Katta Road, villagers rushed to the spot fearing that a fire had broke out. They noticed two people taking out files stuffed in three bags and setting them on fire. The duo fled in the car on seeing the villagers, but were caught eventually . The villagers alerted Penamaluru MLA Bode Prasad, who reached the spot and handed over the duo to police. A case was registered P4 under relevant sections. They are all members of the organising committee and worked as sevadars,” IG Aligarh range Shalabh Mathur said during a press meeting. The officer said the arrested persons were responsible for crowd management. “They used to manage the crowd control independently and would not allow the administration to tackle the situation,” he added. The arrested persons are Ram Ladaite Yadav, Upendra Yadav, Megh Singh, Manju Yadav, Manju Devi, and Mukesh Kumar. However, the main accused in the FIR, mukhya sevadar (chief volunteer) Dev Prakash Madhukar — an engineer with UP Panchayati Raj department — is still at large. Police have announced `1 lakh reward any information about him. Sources said his residence in Hathras is locked and his family members, too, are untraceable. While the FIR doesn’t name the baba, sources said police have raided his eight suspected hideouts, but to no avail. Office demolitions: YSRC gets relief E x p r e s s N e w s Se r v i c e @ Vijayawada In a major relief to the YSRC, the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday directed the State government to exercise its power to demolish the Opposition party’s offices only if their construction is against public interest and cause public nuisance, among other reasons. Additionally, the High Court asked the YSRC to submit its explanations, if any, enclosing all the necessary documents in support of their claims within two weeks to the authorities concerned. The State government had served notices on office buildings of the YSRC at various places and also demolished the under construction building of the party’s State headquarters at Tadepalli, stating that it was unauthorised. Subsequently the YSRC filed a batch of petitions in the , High Court, seeking orders to the State government to refrain from demolishing the party’s offices. After hearing arguments on both sides, the court on Thursday disposed off the petitions after issuing orders to the government to abide by the law while taking any action. The court observed that the sites were allotted to the party for construction of the office buildings at various places of the State, as per the State government’s P4 policy .
