Whether the two incidents are connected is under investigation, officials said. Of the 2,900 kg of IED-making materials recovered, 360 kg were found in Haryana. One of the three doctors arrested worked in the state, while another was employed in Uttar Pradesh. It all began on 19 October, when JeM posters threatening the police and security forces were found in Bunpora Nowgam near Srinagar. An investigation was launched to track down the person responsible. With the help of CCTV footage, the police nabbed a suspect, Dr Adil Ahmed Rather, who worked at a hospital in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. An AK rifle was later recovered from his locker at the Gover nment Medical Colle ge, Anantnag, where he had served The arms and ammunition recovered by Haryana and J&K police forces | PTI as a senior resident until October 2024. The police said the probe had uncovered a “white-collar” terror ecosystem involving radicalised professionals and students who were in contact with handlers in Pakistan and other countries.
