Now, Naidu has embarked on the construction of another iconic structure — Deep Technology Iconic Building — in the capital city of Amaravati to make it the next destination for deep technology Arti, ficial Intelligence, and other such futuristic technologies and create a plethora of opportunities. Taking stock of the implementation of the new IT Policy in the State with senior officials on Tuesday, the Chief Minister directed them to prepare the proposals for the Deep Technology Iconic Build- ing. He instructed the officials to formulate proposals for setting up five lakh workstations by 2029 and 10 lakh such workstations by 2034 in the State. Directing officials to work with the goal of providing employment to the youth, Naidu said district collectors, too, should identify the available lands for setting up the workstations. Also, skill upgradation is necessary at all the workstations for the youth to meet their future needs, he said. On co-working spaces, he directed them to provide land on subsidy for constructing multistoried office complexes, granting permissions through single-window systems for providing basic amenities and bringing the IT companies under power tariff. For co-working spaces, Naidu said, the company should either have 100-seating capacity or should have an office complex which has a space of 10,000 sq.ft. The petitioner, founder of the US-based organisations Global Peace Initiative (GPI) and Gospel to the Unreached Millions, argued that political leaders such as Chandrababu Naidu and Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had questioned the authenticity of EVMs. To this, a two-judge bench comprising Justices Vikram Nath and P B Varale said: “When Chandrababu Naidu or Mr Reddy lost, they say that EVMs are tampered and when they won, they don’t say anything. How can we see this? We are dismissing this. This is not the place where you argue all of this.” Meanwhile, the Congress on Tuesday demanded that EVMs must be abolished and elections conducted through ballot paper. Speaking at a function to mark the ‘Constitution Day’, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge called for a campaign on the scale of Bharat Jodo Yatra to create awareness about returning to ballot papers. The demand comes amid concerns among opposition parties over alleged manipulation of EVMs in Maharashtra and Haryana elections. Vijay Paul has been accused of torturing Deputy Speaker K Raghu Rama Krishna Raju in custody, when the latter was Narasapuram MP in the previous YSRCP government. An attempt to murder case was also booked against him. SP Damodar formally announced the arrest of Vijay Paul at 9 pm following questioning in the case that began at 11 am on Tuesday This was . the second time that Paul was summoned by the SIT. The former CID officer had appeared before the SIT at the Ongole SP office on November 13 for an inquiry the first time. At the time, he reportedly tried to avoid the questions with vague answers. Subsequently, he approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court for anticipatory bail, which was rejected. He then knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court and sought anticipatory bail through a special leave petition (SLP). The apex court had issued a mid-term order to protect him from arrest up until it P4 gave a verdict.
