The decision pertains to Crime No. 77/2016 registered at Tuni Police Station, involving charges under Sections 146, 147, 153, and 174(a) and (c) of the Railway Act. The accused were acquitted by the VII Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Court for Railways, Vijayawada, in its judgment dated May 1, 2023. Initially the government had , directed the Public Prosecutor to file an appeal against the acquittal, as per G.O.Rt.No.852 issued by the Home (Courts-B) Department on June 2, 2025. However, following a review of the judgment, the government has now chosen not to pursue the appeal, as confirmed in G.O.Rt.No.869 dated June 3, 2025. The Public Prosecutor at the High Court of AP, Amaravati, has been instructed to take necessary action to implement this decision.
