Highlighting the State’s unparalleled tourism assets, he mentioned that AP boasts of over 21 economically vibrant temples, a 1,000 km coastline, forest reserves, river circuits, and heritage towns. The government has identified seven anchor hubs, and 25 tourism wines, petrochemical products, dairy items, and agricultural products such as apples, tree nuts, and genetically modified crops. However, the court upheld related GOs granting financial assistance to the IAMC, and mandating referral of high-value disputes to the centre. A division bench, comprising Justice K Lakshman and Justice K Sujana, delivered the verdict while disposing of Public Interest Litigations filed by Koti Raghunatha Rao and A Venkatrami Reddy. The petitioners had challenged the legality of the GOs that provided land, funding, and arbitration referrals to the IAMC, arguing that the organisation is a private entity receiving State support without legal backing. The court set aside the GO dated December 26, 2021, which allotted Plot No. 27, measuring 3.70 acres in Raidurg village of Sherilingampally mandal, Ranga Reddy district, to the IAMC. The bench ruled that the land allotment violated the provisions of the 1975 Rules governing the alienation of State land. The court held that land cannot be given to a private body free of cost unless it is for a public purpose, and the applicable market value is collected. Moreover, at the time of allotment, the IAMC was not even registered under the Companies Act. Despite this, the court upheld two other GOs -one granting `3 crore financial aid to the IAMC, and the other directing all the State departments and PSUs to refer disputes valued above `3 crore to the centre for arbitration. While arguing for the in- formant, her counsel Madhu Yadav said the act of the accused had ruined the life of the woman. Taking note, the bench said that while the concept of live-in relationship had found favour with the young generation, its after-effects were seen in the present case. The bench, however, granted bail to the accused on June 24 this year.
