The key infrastructure projects include a greenfield airport, NTR statue, smart in- dustries, iconic bridge, sports city, river front, ropeway, and Inner Ring Road. The Chief Minister suggested that the Bio Design Project be brought under the purview of SPV noting that experts and , organisations from seven countries are ready to partner in this public health initiative. He also announced plans to establish a Health City in Amaravati, along the lines of the proposed Sports City . The SPV will be fully responsible for the design, construction and revenue generation of infrastructure projects. The CRDA meeting has also approved tenders to create necessary infrastructure for the government building complex in Amaravati. Work of 53.68 km of roads and footpaths connecting the government complex will commence soon. The contractors need to maintain the roads for seven years. A notification on urban designs and architectural guidelines for the capital region has been cleared with the Chief Minister asserting that every structure should enhance Amaravati’s appeal, and attract P4 visitors. U s h a p e r i @ Visakhaptanam Andhra Pradesh has recorded excess rainfall in August, with a departure of 39% from the normal. However, the cumulative rainfall of the State between June 1 and August 31 has remained within the normal range, showing only 1% departure. It may be noted that a series of low-pressure systems contributed to the heavy rainfall during the month. According to data, seven districts in the State recorded large excess rainfall, 10 excess rainfall, and nine normal rainfall. The distribution of rainfall has varied significantly across the State, with Rayalaseema districts in particular witnessing higher departures. The overall rainfall activity during the season so far has remained within normal limits. A bench of justices Naveen Chawla and Shalinder Kaur rejected the challenges to earlier trial court orders denying bail to the accused — Khalid, Imam, Athar Khan, Khalid Saifi, Mohd Saleem Khan, Shi- Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam fa ur Rehman, Meeran Haider, Gulfisha Fatima, and Shadab Ahmed. All of them were booked under the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Arrested in 2020, the accused have been jail for over five years now. The bail plea of another accused, Tasleem Ahmed, was rejected by a different bench of justices Subramonium Prasad and Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar. During an earlier hearing, the bench expressed concern over the prolonged incarceration of the accused. Khalid’s partner Banojyotsna Lahiri said this was the sixth time bail being denied, adding his legal team would now move the Supreme Court as a last resort.
