According to Kodagu police, the incident occurred on April Caspian 12 within the jurisdiction of Sea Kutta police station near Kerala border. The primary accused, hailing from Jharkhand, who was employed as a cook and caretaker at the homestay, has been booked for sexual assault. The homestay owner has also been arrested for allegedly failing to assist the victim promptly and attempting to suppress the incident. Both accused have been remanded to judicial custody .
