After announcing his resignation, Siddaramaiah informed the media that he refused to move to the Rajya Sabha and will continue in active politics in Karnataka. Earlier, Siddaramaiah made the announcement at a breakfast meeting with his cabinet colleagues that included Shivakumar, where many ministers turned emotional.
